Hi, I have trouble deciding what to bring out in the first two measures of the etude (and all of the reoccurring themes). Some teachers have told me to bring out the left hand (in bars 1-2) and bring out the right (in bars 5-6) while others have told me to do the complete opposite.
I would think that the isolated eighths in general should be brought out while the runs should be in the background. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I think the 16th notes are the melody, because the chords sound somewhat ugly if you play them over the 16ths. It makes sense too because in bars 5-6 the right hand has melody obviously, while the left hand is doing the same stuff.

thanks for your reply. you mean the left hand has melody in bars 5-6? in bars 5-6, the left hand plays the 16th notes.

Oh woops, I mean bring out right hand in 1,2,3 then left where the left has 16th notes. In the "easy section" (1st page) whichever hand has 16th notes gets melody unless there's octaves or notes clearly emphasized.
