So, now that it truly is Summertime, I think I'll be able to find time to actually study a major (piano) piece for the first time in over a year. I'd like something cheery by Beethoven, and I've basicallly narrowed it down to:
Op. 2 No. 2 in A Major (thanks to pianojerome for his no score project)
Op. 31 No. 1 in G Major
Op. 31 No. 3 in Eb Major.

...............ALL OTHER THINGS ASIDE..............

Which one is your favorite? And, I suppose, feel free to add any other comments you might have.

All three are great. I would go with 2/2. 31/3 would be my (close) second choice. You really can't go wrong with any of them, though.

It's great that you're exploring the less played but just as worthy Beethoven sonatas, _JR_. Of the three you mentioned, I personally prefer Op. 31 #3, with Op. 2 #2 a close second. Incidentally, the last movement of the A major was a great favorite of Beethoven himself, and he often taught it to his piano students.

Same here. All three are great. I've always wanted to learn Op. 31, N0.3. (One of these days. \:\) )

31/3 looks like a favorite. Plus its my favorite of the bunch (and of all 32!), so I'm really leaning towards that one.

Although, I'm surprised at the lack of love for the G Major! Surely someone out there has that one as their favorite.

I love the G major. It's just I've always been afraid of the slow movement. Musically, I think it's extraordinarily difficult to pull off. It's almost 10 minutes long on its own.

I'll vote for 2/2, just to be annoying.

(And because it's a great piece!)

I'm learning les adieux, and you might want to look at it a little. It's not too long but takes some work to get up to speed, but it seems really underplayed compared to some of his other works
