OK, I admit it. I'm dense. But I don't get the title "When will the pain end?" in context to the post.

Didn't the French used to misspell it as L-I-Z-S-T?
Mon dieu!

I accept the role with great honour comrade. Together we shall glorify the Masters name and fight his vile detractors. Those wretched, bourgeois Chopinists will be no match for our superior wit and reasoning.
Comrade Diarmuidski.

Of course List could beat Chopin in a fight anyday. Chopin is sensitive, melodic and beautiful. List :p is coarse, unrefined and bombastic with no sense of substance. Sort of like Mike Tyson (List) vs. Mikhail Barishnakov.
Musique de List est tres mal, mal, mal!
Pardon mon francais.

of course chopin would never beat listz in a fight... chopin would just gracefully stand back and let Ltsiz take all the limelight which he craves for so desperately...
p.s. the lzist mispellings were done on purpose...=]

PAH! Liszt would triumph over Chopin in any field! Chopin was nothing but an obsequious sycophant, pandering to the tastes of Parisian society with twee waltzes and trifling, frivolous etudes.
Liszt was a TITAN! Pure of heart, noble in reason, unconstrained by convention, he soared above the masses blazing a trail through the heavens...Oh Franz! FRANZ! HOW THEY MALAIGN YOU!...quickly comrade the valium.

Accuse me, if you will, of having no sense of humor, (this is supposed to be funny?) but I fail to see what purpose is served by degrading this forum with this kind of sophomoric exchange!

Although my command of the English language is but a mere fraction of the unequivocal sapience and lucidity of thought that my comrade-in-arms, Dairmuid, posses, I am morally obliged to nonetheless hither to my predilection for Liszt's music and articulate my feelings on said composer to my antagonists in the most astute, forthright manner possible. God forbid we make light of things.

Bruce, I offer my humblest and most earnest apologies. If I should ever attempt to cross the boundary into levity again please tell me.

with apologies to Bruce,
Let's stop getting all mushy. It seems incredulous to me that one who loves Chopin could also love the "king of notes".
Andrew, I need a VP for life very badly. We need to build a lizst of followers.

Uncle! UNCLE! No more, please! I should have known better, although I was especially pleased with the term "Liszt Liszturgy"... P.S. I *would* like a list of simple pieces for playing by an early intermediate level of pianist (me), if such a thing exists. Seems like I saw you or someone post a few suggestions in an earlier post somewhere. D.
