Of course List could beat Chopin in a fight anyday. Chopin is sensitive, melodic and beautiful. List :p is coarse, unrefined and bombastic with no sense of substance. Sort of like Mike Tyson (List) vs. Mikhail

Diarmuid, I'm ignant..........what does that there word "levity" mean?????

That there word means "Lightness of manner or speech, especially when inappropriate; frivolity".

I am throwing my dictionary out and just coming to this place to learn new words! I have already learned a large liszt of words.. (pun intented). We cannot overlook the fact that Chopin was an invert, he only played in small salons and had a fear of the public. He had no where as many notable pupils as Liszt, who went out of his way to help his art. That is where the comparison ends, because it is futile to try and compare them, both are composers of the first rank, the better one is that which you think suits you best.

Hear, hear. They were human beings and I honestly love them both.

Surely you show sagacity and sapience in your submitted query, yet skepticism seeps into my soul. Should I supply you such a lis(z)t of the sounds that shower my heart with sunlight, or is this a sickening spy-mission by a Chopinist to sour my sentiments?

P.S. I *would* like a list of simple pieces for playing by an early intermediate level of pianist (me), if such a thing exists. Seems like I saw you or someone post a few suggestions in an earlier post somewhere.
