Hi Jon

Very similar accomplishments.

Early 2005, I got a new grand piano much better than the previous one and this was quite a bet !!

After a few weeks of hanging around by myself I found an excellent teacher during a trip to Cuba and decided to work more seriously. Last June I met a young Cuban pianist in Paris and he comes every week to my home for lessons on my piano. Learning touch and control on my own piano is great.

I played a lot of Bach this year and this music is perfect to put my piano playing together : First Partita, second French Suite and now Italian Concerto.

Schubert Impromptus and Mozart Sonatas are next on the list....

1. Im am so very proud of my Ligeti Etude! So wonderful to play. It is such a nice piece, and when I finished it, I felt as if I had reached a new level.

2. Composed a work for tenor, bass, and piano which was programmed at FSU myself playing piano

3. Composed 6 short pieces for piano (about 2 minutes each) and a 'Monument' for piano (about 18 minutes long) which I programmed many times

4. Had several successful recitals

5. Gave an all Bach Recital and Lecture ( im not comfortable or scholarly enough to give a lecture, but it went well)

6. Worked very hard and added a substantial amount of repertoire to my list

Congrats to Derulux for the Rach 2! When you move up to Rach 3, post it too!

I actually started in late 2004, so this is the only year I've really had accomplishments, but here they are:

-Leaning to read music =)
-Butchering Rachmaninov's Op. 16 No. 4 with style
-Being unofficially ranked the thrid best pianist in my quaint high school of 800. I sure was proud.

I'm sure 2006 will be much more rewarding, because I'll be going to college and immersing myself in every musical opportunity they have.
Demi me, please!
