does anyone know the correct fingering for the doubles for Beethoven's tempest sonata mvt. 1? for the doubles, are the fingers supposed to change or are you supposed to use the same finger?

Supposedly he derived his inspiration from Shakespeare's play.

The finguring in the edition of Sheetmusicarchive.net is pretty close to what I used. I think I used 4-3 for the last beat of the 3rd measure, though.

I think you should use whatever feels comfortable to you. My guess is that the fingering 3-2 3-2 etc. helps you *skip* all the way down.

That's what Henle has in its edition.
