Originally posted by btb: Glad to hear someone still likes Henry Mancini’s "Moon River" Gimme a break, btb, I adore that song! Not all of us in the Pianist Corner are hopeless musical snobs. Match ya for a Cole Porter tune... or shall we talk 'echt' British blokes... got lots of Ivor Novello if you want the pdfs... My kingdom for another showing of 'Gosford Park'... And of course you know about the 'really' early Novello family... Roman Catholics (horrors) slightly before the 'Emancipation'... they just pretended to be publishers... yeah, secretly invading the hallowed Anglicism of London... but they were only supplying music to the chapels of the Portuguese, Italian and Spanish embassies. This was where Mass was truly celebrated... and conveniently cocking a snook at the Church of England.

No arrangement could make this awful tune bearable.

I was waiting to see a "good" arrangement of Moon River. What btb posted was not an arrangement, but just the conventional vocal/piano score.
Regards,
