Has anybody else tried this with the 'minus 1' CD? I just got it for fun and found the tempo of the first movement at least to be very fast! (a little too fast for me to play with in some places!)

Iain,

I just double-checked my hunch at their website, and it turns out there are two versions of Mozart's K. 466 at Music Minus One:

MMO CD 6084CL

MMO CD 3014

The second one includes a 20%-reduced-speed practice version.

I know that's no help to you if you already have the other one instead, but thought it might be something to be aware of if you weren't already. I had no idea that some of the MMO sets include reduced speed versions, so it would never have occurred to me to check for it.

Iain and Steve,

I have the reduced speed and regular version. There are two CDs in the package. The reduced speed is not as slow as you'd think. To me it's just about comfortable to play where as their "full" speed version is too fast just like many of their other recordings.

John

Cool, thanks. I realize now I actually have that other CD but haven't tried it. Will do so now!

I found this recording on vinyl in a junk-shop and I thought I'd try it for fun. After checking the speed at which it was played I sent the record on its way to another junk shop.

DragonPianoPlayer,

Actually, I believe that Audacity has the same feature, and it is free.

You can see it under "Effect" and "Change Tempo". Very useful.
