OMG. its sooooo funny. thanks for the post dude. the end sound satanic than majestic. poor Handel. those choir members must be resisting the temptation with all their might to swear at the organist. well.... accidents happen.

I don't the guy in the competition video forgot the piece. You don't go up on that competition stage without every single nuance of that piece looked over. It seemed more like his hands were cramping up due to nervousness at that particular spot in the piece. I am affected by that sometimes too...Sad, considering how hard these people work to be able to get up on that stage.

It is actually rather easy to do, if you are playing an unfamiliar organ that has one of those wretched transposing devices, and if it is installed as a thumb piston rather than a harder-to-reach knob. I have a feeling I know the exact model - it is a pretty bad design flaw for unsuspecting organists (who often have to play unfamiliar instruments without much prior preparation).
My guess is that he went to change his registration with a thumb piston, and hit the transposer instead.
The only thing we can be relatively sure of, is that this person is not a "loser". exactly... i have more than once hit this one button while playing that 'turns on the horns'.... shudder Been there, done that. An instrument I occasionally sub on has a transposer dangerously near the registration pistons. Always a good idea to make certain the knob to the extreme left (which controls how far up or down) is set to zero.
