You guys crack me up! I have one calling me Cornelius cool and another quoting from old movies! I'll miss you when I leave on vacation soon! (Jodi, that means you'll reach Senior Member first!!! Which is as it should be, don't you think? Beauty and intelligence before age and sarcasm, and all that . . . or that's what Kelly would say!)

Diarmuid, I'll be visiting Grand Cayman on this trip; want to meet me there for a pint?

Sarcasm before all!

And what's this about a "befuddled" barbarian? A barbarian doesn't need to think, he just needs to go about everything in the most violent, obtrusive way possible.

Well, my Board Meeting begins tomorrow night, with our Annual Meeting the next day, so I'll try to remember and act upon that advice.

After I'm fired, I'll give you a call!

I see that many of us have become bra-burners already and have cast off the ratings!

You may be fired, Cork, but just look at it as "early retirement." Then, you'll have plenty of time to go inside yourself and become a philisophical barbarian.

There is also the other option of "walking the earth," a la Kung Fu: the Legend Continues.

Grand Caymen sounds fantastic but I'm a working man now!!! I've just landed a part time job at guess where Cork? Bluthners in Berkley Square!!!! (the fact that I've got a job at all will make my parents faint!).

Can you believe it! I went to Gloustershire with Neil and Jill, where they were playing a concert for Heir Bluthner (the main man!). Anyway I ended up getting sloshed on champagne with some guy who turned out to be the MD for the British end and he offered me a job!! At first I wasn't going to take it (I thought it would take up too much of my time) but a couple of friends gave me a mental kick up the butt and told me to. Had the official interview last week and got it!

It should be great fun, and you have my word of honour that I won't become all stupidly pro any brand smile Or anti any brand wink

Just couldn't keep it to myself any longer smile

Diarmuid.

Wow, a ton of stuff happens when I disappear for a while. So, we are all "no stars" these days. Plus, I have this feeling that I'm never gonna get out of junior member status.

So, Stars Be Gone.

Remember, I was the original Stars Be Gone!!

Diarmuid,

That's fantastic! What an outstanding place to work; I love that store. The Bluthner is a big favorite of mine; just got a chance to play a couple new ones at Kahns here in Dallas a couple weekends back, including a 9'. They are wonderful instruments.

I'm delighted you accepted the position -- you'll do well there and have some fun at the same time. Congrats!

I suppose you could say that Brendan was the Marx or Engels of the movement, that Alex was the Lenin, and I'm just the Stalin . . .

. . . which is appropriate, since right now I'm stallin' getting back to work!

Congratulations on your new position, Diarmuid. Sounds wonderful. Oh, I wonder if you'll get a business card with a piano on it. Or the fallboard emblem. Zowie.

Diarmuid - If you DO get a neat-o business card with the Bluthner name on it, would you be willing to send me one?! Congrats on your part time job - what a JOY (as opposed to a JODI ;)) to be around those fabulous pianos all the time! You must definitely send me (or Cork) a photo of you at work so we can post it in the forum photo album!! Jodi

So are you saying that you rule this forum with an iron fist and will make any of your suspected enemies "accidentally" slip in the shower?

Hi Jodi!

Absolutely, on both fronts smile And yeah, frankly I don't see myself getting ANY work done in that environment, I'll be too busy playing all the pianos laugh

It's a job from heaven.

Who, me? Nah, I'm just a simple peasant. But if I were Lenin, I'd be real worried . . .
