Whoa... [shakes head in utter awe]. I think I need to go to the "vote for your favorite rock pianist" thread and change my vote. smile

I have his solo piano CD, "Country Airs." It's music of a very different style, more new age than anything else, but very beautiful. "Lakeland Walks" (on that CD) is one of my all-time favorite piano solo pieces, and I wish he would some day produce sheet music for it.

Wakeman's right hand per CC2's link: seriously wondering if Wakeman can achieve the same on a acoustic concert grand action (fingers will likely need to do more "work" to get repetition).

Sam: Thanks for the link. That's the "real deal." thumb thumb

Sam, Great stuff as well. Although I really didn't mean for it to become a competition of performances, just an appreciation of what seems super human. The difference I notice between the two performances, based on the limited view of Mr. Czirna's hands and fingers with the camera angle, alot of the speed of repetition he is achieving is being accomplished through percussive alternation of both hands, controlled primarily at the wrists. In contrast, Rick Wakemen's speed is contained in rapid alternating of his fingers on one hand only. Speaking from a Physical Therapist's perspective, both are very difficult to achieve at this level, but are very different tasks from a musculoskeletal perspective, so it really isn't fair to compare them.
Ax,
He probably could achieve the same on a "Stanwoodized" action that was done right! wink

You're right CC2, it isn't a competition, it's just fun to watch/hear all of them.

I'm thinking of starting a page on PW to collect these performances (collection of the links that is).

I think that is a great idea Frank. Maybe you can title it "The Super Human Players Page".
