Joshua Bell is giving a concert here next week! My mom and cousin and I are going to go. Quite looking forward to it. Program is as follows: Carl Nielsen Symphony No. 4 ("Inextinguishable") Ranjbaran Violin Concerto Camille Saint-Saëns Introduction and Rondo capriccioso

There's a couple of girls in the orchestra at my school who are obsessed with the Saint-Saens. I can't imagine more than two or three days going by when I don't hear them playing it! (excluding weekends, of course... ) I've never heard the other pieces on the program... but if it's Joshua Bell... I hear he's the pride and glory of Indiana University!

I went to see Joshua Bell when he gave a concert in town, and it was pretty good, I guess. I just don't really like all the knee-bending, thrashing around stuff, but it was good other than that.

Read somewhere that he's a Juilliard graduate. Could you clue me in on how to pronounce his last name? :p Can't wait to hear this concerto! I'll definitely have to write something up on Thursday afternoon.

[/b] Yes, he's a pre-college teacher at the 'yard; A super nice guy, it's great to see that his works are getting played so much recently, and by great ensembles/soloists. (I think his last name is pronounced pretty much as it's spelled: Rahn-j-bah-rahn) koji (STSD)
