Hi all,
i'm quite lost! Regarding the different piano edition, does this mean that with "urtext" , it means that it's original with nothing added by editor ?
Also, usually, which edition are the most reliable ? I saw that there are a great difference in price.. and im wondering should i save money to buy a cheaper edition such as "schirmer's library" instead of "henle urtext".. please tell me the difference? Thanks.!

The Henle Urtext edition are highly recommended, they adhere to the composer's original text, and usually tell you when they changed something. (They also put in fingerings). It is worth it to save up and buy the urtext edition, even though schirmer is cheaper. But if you need more music now, you can always buy schirmer now and then Henle later and re-check your pieces. In the Schirmer books, the editors are often artists themselves and might make changes in the score (like Mikuli with Chopin), so at least with urtext you are getting as close as possible to the original, since it is impossible to have it 100% accurate.
