Some of us here may be thinking about buying a good big book of theory, harmony and sight-reading. If you were to have just one book for everyday reference to these subjects, what would it be? Your suggestions are appreciated.

What kind of theory? (Counterpoint, classical harmony, figured bass, jazz?)

BeethBaChopin,

Take a look at "Practical Theory Complete" by Sandy Feldstein, published by Alfred. There is also a series by Keith Snell (pub. by Kjos) called Fundamentals of Piano Theory, available in Primer - Level 10; you can also purchase separate teacher answer guides for each level.

The one I like best is Aldwell/Schachter's "Harmony and Voice Leading"

For those that haven't heard about it, here is a very useful online reference for technique and signt reading. (No theory or harmony though.)
