Arrangements of popular pieces for different instruments can be more or less successfull.

Yesterday I attended a concert with romantic music. As an extra number they played Schubert's Impromtu in G-flat arranged for piano and cello. The cello, built in Napoli in the middle of the 19th century, had a very warm tone. The melody 'floated' in a way you cannot obtain on the piano.

I consider taking this piece on my repertoire, but I think it should really be performed by a cellist and a pianist together!
