check out the Rhapsody streaming music service from www.listen.com It's $9.95 per month, and you get unlimited access to to something like 100,000 albums, all genras.. Every classial piece I've ever been looking for, I can find at least several different recordings of with this service.. You can burn tracks to CD for $0.79 each as well. If you have a broadband internet connection in your home (ie. Cable Modem or DSL), I highly recommend this. -Paul

I went to the Rhapsody site. It looks interesting, so I wanted to do the free limited 'Preview' service. But I've tried everything, theres NO way to get the preview....?!?!!? It simply tells you about the preview service, but only allows you to sign up for the subscription. What am I not seeing??

For those that already have a sizable collection Berkshire Record site is a very good place for some cheap and hard-to-find gem items. Once in a while they offer super deals for those gigantic 'complete' box sets. A place not to be missed. Thanks, F Chopin for mentioning it here.

I have been using Tower but arkiv really has the stuff you can't find anywhere else. Amazon is great for reading reviews.

Glad you agree. Their search facility is useless though. On 2 occasions I've sent them e-mails telling them they ought to look at their search facility.

No need to sign up for anything. Mark

I'll second or third (or whatever): www.crotchet.co.uk Always found them very efficient and reliable. I've not ordered recently because I am saving for a new piano rather than piano discs (sigh!). Personally I'd always support the independent dealers over the big online retailers - and the service tends to be better.

Don't you choose the subscription you "plan to buy" and then do the download, but don't actually get charged until after your preview period is up? You might try the "branded" version of it: http://rhapsody.jambase.com/ "jambase" is a website for "jamband" music, groove/jazz/funk type stuff.. Rhapsody is Rhapsody, but they rebrand it.. I think they have a link to download the installer. -Paul

I've found www.mdt.co.uk to be consistently cheaper than crotchet for imports. I've never had any problems with their service either.
