Hello All.Could someone please please count out the rhythm of Ave Maria(Op.52,No.6)by Franz Schubert? There are 3 staves. The top one is for the singer, the bottom 2 are for the LH and RH of the piano.I am playing the RH for the piano with my LH and playing the singers melody with my RH.There are groups of sixtopolits for my LH.They consist of one sixteenth note rest and 5 sixteenth notes.I have the song recorded on a CD.I keep trying to play along with the CD over and over again and just ca'nt get how to count the rhythm of the left hand with the RH singer.Does anyone have an easier arrangement or can they send the counting to my email address:LMICHAL@nycap.rr.com Thank you.Linda

Isn't that in 6/8 or 12/8?

Four beats would sound like this: "uh-ba-da-da-da-da, uh-ba-da-da-da-da, uh-ba-da-da-da-da, uh-ba-da-da-da-da."

Yes, but the original poster is having trouble superimposing the melody on top of the accompaniment because of the multiple rhythms. I'll find a jpeg of the music and write in the counting.

It's going to be similar to the first example:

All three staves can actually be played at the same time. I've played various arrangements of this for funerals, weddings, and other religious services. It's one of those pieces that shows everybody "whether the performer is a musical poet or merely a pianist; whether he can tell a story or merely play the piano."

A concert should be a profound and magical experience for both
the performer and audience. It is in performance that
you experience the true essence of a composer.

Edit: Shoot, Why doesn't graphically writing it out with characters work?

I think Pianists are common name for some who play the electonic light key piano with a metronome, and some who play piano with sensitive keys without the metronome.
