Just curious...

Has anyone initially experienced performance anxiety (hands shaking, brain cramps reading music, etc...) during public performance but learned to control it through repeated exposure to public performances?

Oh a side note, I remember as child, I had no such problems during recitals, but then I didn't care for the music nor the piano. It's totally opposite as an adult.

I read and used "Fight your fear and win" and "performance success." I must say neither of them helped me at all

The biggest problem I used to have was sweaty hands. The only problem was it wasn't just when I was performing it was always. So i got this medication now that stops it all together. After I stopped sweating I really havn't gotten any performance anxiety. Well that's not true. Just no performance anxiety that hinders my performance. I'm still nervous though. What I do is I keep saying to myself that it doesn't matter how well I do. If I totally kill it then I totally kill it. No ones going to hate me for it. If it's a competition or audition I just say to myself, "I'm prepared if it doesn't work out it's not my fault." Now I don't have many worries before I perform.

well...I always feel nervous when I perform in front of people. Hands are shaking, and even my legs are shaking when I'm using the pedal...
But I feel better when I can totally play the pieces in my heart~
