Both Prelude and Fugue from Book II #14 (F# minor) are still my all time favourites, as both are achingly beautiful.

All you guys shouting numbers back and forth reminds me of the insane asylum where the inmates had told the same jokes so many times, they just gave them numbers and called out the numbers instead of telling the whole jokes.

and then one day, the new inmate came along and wanted to know what was going on. The guy next to him explained, so then the new guy figured he'd give it a shot and yelled: "17!"

Dead silence.

"What's the matter," he asked, "is 17 not a good joke?"

"Oh, it's one of my favorites," replied his cell-mate. "But you told it wrong."
