Hello all
After some thinking, I decided to create and begin work on a podcast devoted to music.
The podcast is named All Music and will feature piano music, chamber music, orchestral music and basically all music. A large part of the program will be for little known or unknown musicians.
I was wondering if any of you would be interested in participating.

A few disclaimer points[/b] :

1.Please understand that without other artists participation, because of the lack of content, such a project is bound to fail.
2.The current goal I have for the podcast is to have regular shows for the next 6 month and grow the listening membership
3.the grow of the membership and the podcast progress will be judged based on the number of downloads of each show and comments/requests posted

How would the played artists be selected[/b]

To begin, I will be the one selecting the music played based on the artists submissions I get.
Then, progressively,I am hoping for the podcast to have a small(5-6 people) editorial team that will help in selecting the artists.
And of course, listeners comments/requests will play heavily in programming the shows

Well,that is about it.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions.
I hope many of you will be interested in participating

Just begin. Get a good microphone (for example a Samson C01U that you can hook up directly to USB), get some free music from the net (for example from http://music.podshow.com ), set up a web site ( http://www.wordpress.com with Podpress) and you're ready to go. \:\)

I don't know if you're interested in my music, but you're free to use it for non-commercial podcasts:

I actually already have the site and software
I am not exactly sure about getting music from other websites.I would rather not do that.

The idea behind the podcast is the following:

"As composers and performers,it is sometimes hard to find locations, radio stations and podcasts where to perform and be performed. We, at the ALL MUSIC Podcast, have launched this podcast with the goal of bridging this gap and provide composers and performers a place where their music and performances can be heard. We are looking forward to bringing to you music from known, little known or not known composers and performers. We hope you enjoy our podcast and we are looking forward to your comments and requests"

The above is just a small draft, but the basic ideas are there
As far as your music, thank you for the permission.I will surely use some. Will let you know which ones

Edit: I selected Song About You for this first podcast. As I am still working on it, I will post when the first show is available

Are there any performance rights that have to be considered in contributing to this "podcast"? Even after a performer/composer has given permission for a performance to be used, can performances from the web-site be downloaded and "used" by others?

Some (of us) have posted performances within our own community on the Piano World website, and as public a forum as this is, we might be hesitant to post a performance on a website that may be widely publicized and where others might make use of those recorded performances in ways which we have not anticipated.

Regards,

Thank you for your question.
As a performer,I perfectly understand it \:\)
As of now,it is not possible to restrict a download.
But the simple answer to your question is in the form of the Creative Commons Licence(http://creativecommons.org/):

"You are free:
to Share — to copy, distribute, display, and perform the work
Under the following conditions:

Attribution. You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).

Noncommercial. You may not use this work for commercial purposes.

No Derivative Works. You may not alter, transform, or build upon this work."

I hope this answers your question

The website I posted, http://music.podshow.com , was created specifically for podcasts that need royalty-free music. Artists get airplay, podcasts don't get any hassles, everyone wins.
