And, how does she pronounce her name by herself in her village, in her country and in international events?

In Japan, most people pronounce her first and the last name in different languages, which are in Spanish and German respectively. I pronounce both the first and the last names in Spanish.
While I am writing this question, I am wondering if she has many middle names. Does she?

I was *just* wondering the same thing today! I guess Martha is self explanatory, but is it ArgeRICH, ArgerICK or something else?

Argerich, which is read in english Ar-he-rich (soft r on rich), is how you pronounce it in spanish. I don´t know how she pronounces it. Martha is just pronounced with no H, as in Marta or Martin.

Martha Argerich's father is of Croatian origin (Island of Brač) thus the "-ich" ending in her family name is pronounced in the same way as "-ich" in Pogorelich.

A - open A like in italian MAMMA
R - like R in ROMEO
G - like G in GET
E - open like E in EMILY
R - see above
I - short like in PIT
CH - like in CHEEK

"Argerich is an Catalan surname from Central European origin, also common in Argentina."

We have a (ostensibly Swiss[1]) client with the same surname, so I'll ask her what she thinks the next time she comes in to buy something \:\)

[1] Well, she speaks fluent French with a local accent.
