Twin girl babies were born to my very dear friend and wife. The names of the new babies are: Faith & Jane.

I also realized that Barbara Nissman was born on the same day. (1944?) I'm not familiar with the artistry of this pianist. The only recording I'm aware of by her is the complete Prokofiev Sonatas. Anyone care to provide more details about this pianist?

She's a Michigan alum. Has done some work on Bartok, too.

I've heard the Prokofiev recordings. Not that impressive compared to other current offerings. (Chiu and Bronfman)

I enjoy her Prokofiev Sonatas, but also agree that there are better sets out there.

She has a phenomenal technique(she studied with Sandor) and her playing is very assertive and bold.

I heard a recording of Nissman playing the liszt sonata, and it was quite excellent.

I'm afraid I'll have to admit that I don't know who Barbara Nissman is. shocked

But. OMG. Sending good vibes in your direction. (Are you going to get any sleep the next 4 weeks? !!)

Oh, no! Did I misunderstand? Oh, the wonders of the English language.

Please clarify.

Is your wife your dear friend (I hope so)? Or do the babies belong to your dear friend?

(Hope I didn't start anything here... frown eek )

No, I'm not the new father. My friend and his wife just had the lovely and lovable twins delivered 8:51 and 8:52 a.m. on December 31. I went to the hospital to visit them around noon time and saw how the new father learned to bathe 'Baby A'. That's what it was written on the tag to the glass crib. I took a few pictures. These came out quite nicely. The father is rather pleased.

As to myself I have one daughter who is 13 years old. She is more than I can handle...

Thanks anyway for everyone's good wishes.
