Hi. I'm going to perform at a competition outside my country in 15 days or so.
Here's my program.

1st Stage:
Bach - prelude and fugue Eb-major no.7 wtc2
Beethoven - sonata op.57 "Appassionata"
Liszt - Transcedental Etude no.10 f-minor

2nd Stage:
Chopin - Polonaise-fantasie op.61
Prokofiev - sonata no.7 op.83

Any thoughts?

What are the requirements for the competition?

ecm - I think that's an excellent program. Good luck at the competition. If you can make a recording, we'd love to hear your playing. smile

Debussy20 - in young artist (1 or 2 stages) competitions, the typical requirements are: 1 Bach P&F from the WTC, 1 sonata from the classical period (usually Beethoven or Mozart), 1 Etude (usually Chopin, Liszt, or Scriabin), 1 bigger work from romantic period, and one post-romantic work. In a 3-stage competition, a concerto is in the last stage. In a 4-stage competition, the third round is usually chamber music.

Thank you.

Yes, LisztAddict is right about the requirements.
In this competition, there is no round with an orchestra, even tough I just finished working on Rachmaninov's Second concerto.

If I can make a recording I will be more than glad to hear your opinions. Thanks for writing.
