Hi! I will have a small solorecital next spring time, and I just wonder if you have any ideas and your opinion for my repertoire choices...well here it comes... for an 1/2hour solo programme> *Bach/Busoni>Ich ruf zu dir,Herr from Organ-choralvorspiele *Sjostakowitch> prel and fugue B-major no.21 *Rachmaninov> preludes following no> op.23 no.3 d.minor op.23.no.4 Dmajor op.23 no.7 c/minor op.23 no.9 e flat/minor op.32 no.12 giss/minor op.23 no.2 Bflat/major It will be great to hear what you think of this programme or perhaps you have a better idea? Anyway, let me know...

Are you planning on playing all of the preludes that you have listed? I would recommend playing only one of them. Pick your favorite. Then maybe you could add some Mozart or Debussy. Its always a good idea to try to get as much as a variety as possible. Remember that not everyone likes to listen to the same thing so to get all of the audience to love your concert, you must try to play something that everyone will like.

I agree with Amy..the Rach preludes can sound a lot alike if you play a whole bunch of them..i am playing 3 of them for an upcoming recital, and that's all i dare. iw ould suggest some Debussy or somehting along hose lines in there too.

Thanks Amy and Pianomuse for your opinions! sorry that I havent answered for a long time,,too busy,,,anyway here I am.. In fact that this recital will also include two other pianists in the same concert so we all pianists will play different pieces like I play Bach-Busoni, Schostakowitch, Rachmaninov and the other pianist will play works by Mendelssohn: Romances and var.seieuses, and the third pianist will play Schubert sonate and Ravel from Tombeau de Couperin,,so it will be interesting for the audience I think: different pianists and different pianomusic... See you soon again! Thanks
