A few more excerpts from one of the Crosslands summer concerts. These were recorded live at a concert in St. James Piccadilly. The piano is a Bosendorfer 225 and it was close miked using an AKG C3000B and two other identical less expensive mikes (can't remember the name!). The mikes were spread roughly from treble to base with the AKG in the middle. All were fed directly into a Korg D1600 portable digital studio. It was live so expect the odd duff note and recorded page turn JCF Bach, Sonata in A Major, 1st Movement JS Bach, Fugue in C, BWV.564 I wanted to put up the complete movements but ran out of webspace (stingy British Telecom grrr!) so only got up the complete J.S. Bach Fugue. JS Bach, Fugue in C (complete), BWV.564 [ November 07, 2001: Message edited by: Diarmuid ]

Thanks for sharing that Diarmuid!
I enjoyed the performance and the recording is quite nice. Can you tell me the approx size (# seats) of the hall---it sounds very good on the recording (if that is the real thing I'm hearing). Also, the piano is beautifully balanced IMO----

Thanks Matt, It's the real thing alright(I was looking after the D1600 on the day :)). Actually there was a funny moment when an old man at the front fell asleep during the Ravel Mother Goose Suite and his snoring came out on the recording. Capacity wise on the day I'd estimate there were about 80-100 people but I'd guess the church is capable of holding 4-5 times that number, but that's just my best guess. Glad you enjoyed it
