Well it's my Junior year in high school and so naturally the search for colleges has begun. I'm not quite sure what I want to do yet, but definatly something with music. I would preferably like to stay local (I live in New Jersey) and so I've started my search in the surrounding area. I don't really know much about the music programs at alot of colleges/universities. Some local ones I'm going to look into are Rutgers, Penn State, and Temple. I also might look into Julliard and my teacher teaches at Curtis so I'll probably look into them as well. But I want to get a feel for some other ones. So does anyone have any comments on those few or even others that are around? Again, I would like to stay local. jsut about any help would be appreciated!

Temple is excellent. How local is local? Peabody by JHU is excellent as far as I have heard. Are you willing to go to New England? Boston U, UMass Amherst, and Harvard (I'm not sure on this on) are all good programs. And look into the West Coast! It's so much cooler . UCBerkeley, USC, and some of the other UCs have wonderful programs.

When I say local I mean within maybe New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York. That general area.
Also do any of these schools have music libraries? I've been browsing their websites but haven't come across that yet.

Ithaca College has a beautiful campus and some pretty nice music facilities, from my experience.
