How hard do you think it would be to round up a few local pianists from any given area and start one? Of course, it may start off small at first, and could very well stay small, but if we can get together, get others interested, teach them about piano, and get them to join, we could grow over time. The hard part would be to round up members in the first place. Has anyone ever attempted this or anything like this or are you a part of something like this? I think that it would be most interesting to give a try at.

brilliant idea! you'd have to find several brave, bored people who love music, but still. sounds like fun \:\)

anybody here from Alabama like that idea? lol

You know, there are three of this type of group that started on this very forum - the Dallas group, the Front Range group, (Denver/Boulder area) and the SoCal group. Some of them even POSTED PICTURES of their get togethers. Go for it! Jodi

Well.. there is "The Mozart Society" that my sister and brother-in-law belong to. They have a piano in there home and they have a meeting once a month at different members houses and different members play piano pieces that they know, and they also have a big gala Mozart Concert once a year that is for chairity and they raise a lot of money.
This is no small organazation, but has hundereds of members.

jgoo, I guess it all depends. I've twice tried to start something in my neighborhood (Greenpoint) by putting up posters stating my wish to start a local piano group.

I've never received any responses. \:\(
