Ligeti! (I mean the concerto, I don't know if he's written a sonata).

not originally a cello sonata, but... Faure's A major sonata. Originally scored for violin, but the composer agreed to transcribe it for other instruments. I've heard it played on cello, and wow.... it is simply awesome.
Another nice piece for cello is Ravel's "Piece en forme de habanera". Played it with a cellist a long time ago, which was a lot of fun.

Brahms #1 (E minor) is nice too. I also like the Schubert Arpeggione. Apart from the first movement, I don't like the Franck sonata so much on the cello. Not a sonata, but the Schumann Fantasy Pieces Op.73 are really nice on the cello. Beethoven A major sonata is a good piece too.
Haydn C major is my favourite concerto. And Shostakovich no.1.

Love the Rachmaninoff, all the Beethoven sonatas and I adore the Elgar concerto.

Anyone have any favourite piano/cello duos at the moment?
I saw Demidenko/Gorokhov for the first time yesterday - simply outstanding.
