String players are mean. They don't understand how hard the piano parts are in chamber music. What piece are you playing?

My quartet is coming tonight.

3 psalm/hymns and accompaniment. my director wrote them for her orchestral/choral conducting doctorate performance. not too hard.

it was fun practicing tho i had no idea they were going to play (inspite of them sitting right next to me). i about fell off the bench, the cello was so loud.

well... things went very well.. the quartet was pleasantly surprised to hear me actually play flawfree.

I play viola (not as good as I play piano), but I'm actually in a Chamber orchestra and a quartet so I'm familiar with this. I'll also tell you I too have experienced this discomfort when playing piano with string people. String players can usually sightread all of their notes and rhythyms and get it close to perfect the second or third time. Oftentimes, they expect pianists to be able to do the same! That, in particular bugs me.

I agree with Ryan Green. I play violin and am in a chamber orchestra. We are playing a Mozart piece and other than a few rythmic errors, I played if fairly well the first time. On piano, I am a horrible sight reader (I need to practice that) and can't imagine having to sight read in front of orchestra snobs (I admit, I am one). I'm glad you played well Apple.
