Hi Mr_Kitty

I live in palo alto in will attend the event. I always enjoy listening to the 4th ballade live. I'll make sure to say hello after the performance. Do you know what kind of piano you will have available?
Also I am actually interested in hosting similar events. It would be a good way to connect with fellow performers in the bay area.

Regards,
Marco

Record it! Please! At least the Third Ballade! It is my favorite Chopin piece! Good luck with your performance.

I know the music ups and down.

Thank you Marco for your support. I look forward to your aquaintance!
Unfortunately I will be playing a Yamaha-something at least 7 feet. hopefully a c7. I hear the piano is quite good for what it is.
I don't live in California anymore-I'm down here visiting friends. My old teacher, Rebecca, arranged for me to play at this event. I don't know whether it will be recorded. If I were to record the 4 ballades I'd do it properly.

Hey, I used to live on Grizzly Peak Boulevard...also played a shipload of Chopin, BTW just got back from Paris and went to see where Chopin died - then walked west and saw the place where they held his funeral - it was practically a state affair...

Mr Kitty :

We haven't heard how your August 21st performance of the four Chopin Ballades went.

Do fill us in!

Thank you Bruce!
Audience all seemed to like it alot more than I did which is usually a good sign! Lots of congradulatory-type thank you's and I got paid in cash. In retrospect I probably should have left myself more than 2 weeks to review the ballades but they weren't too shabby! Now I'm free to work towards several upcoming performances in the Toronto area.

You spent TWO WEEKS reviewing FOUR Ballades - and here I've spent FOUR MONTHS learning TWO Chopin Preludes (and a Poulenc piece).

Congrats on the performance, Mr. Kitty! Probably typical for the pianist (you) to be the toughest critic. Glad to hear that the crowd was pleased, and payment in cash is always a welcomed circumstance!!! thumb

Anybody see that picture in the Sunday paper of my great good friend Susanna Perez who auctioned off the 4th Ballade. She's great - got hands like ice picks...studied with my teacher...
