Yes, all of our nightmares have come true. It seems that a game production company has undertaken the task of creating a video game staring, yes, Frederic Chopin! Unfortunately the game looks to be pretty bad, IMO. It's all anime and has little to nothing to do with Chopin's life (as I can see so far). The description given is about some unreal dream that Chopin had in his dying hours. They of course made that up, and even stated so, but it is the driving force in the story of the game! Anyway, take a look for yourself... ew. Wow.

Interesting - - as I recall Abraham Lincoln once helped fight aliens on an episode of the original Star Trek - -

Polka and Allegretto are not names of people. They could better call them George and Eugène.

The link beliw is to some scenes from the game. Apparently Chopin is the guy dressed like a fancy chimney sweep. At least there's a piano in there somewhere. http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/trusty-bell...cret=467c7c143e

If this is an RPG with swords and things than it's probably like just another Final Fantasy with Chopin in it. Sounds lame to me. [/b] From the little write up I found, they do use his music. Still sounds pretty lame to me too.

I don't know if Chopin is cringing with mortification or shaking with laughter in his grave right now, but I do think it's a good sign that he's recognizable enough, considered "cool" enough, (at least in Japan) to become an anime character.

ha.....actually I think it's kinda cool - it can act as a sort of exposure for children towards Chopin's music. [/b] It's rather nice as an activity to get children interested in Chopin. However I think it looks like it's directed more at teenage girls from the flowery presentation and manga-esque figures. At the moment in Japan there is a craze for comic books based on music stories. This composer inspired video game looks like the next thing to arrive. Add a bit of fantasy and you got yourself a winner. If Bunin's playing then one would expect a product of a respectable standard which is going to be safe for your kids. However if it is a winner look out for other composer gamesoft such as Bach to the Future. By the way Happy July 4th everybody!

Looks all right.. quite good anime. I don't have a 360, otherwise I might've bought it. Btw, I may assume that the girl on pictures 15 and 16 is George Sand :p ?

...a complex and combo-based battle system of swords and magic weaponry. The fresh ideas just keep coming. Seriously, I hope there is a ton of musical content in this game. A piano minigame perhaps, and I guess you could try to capture chocobo-pianos to ride around the expansive, cliched fantasy world. At least they didn't make him a banjo or bagpipe virtuoso.
