Anyone familiar with this composer's collection of Brazilian dances? I flipped through the book at my local sheet music store and they look pretty exciting but difficult. Any insight on their musical value or difficulty would be helpful to me, so I don't have to buy the book and take the time to learn them all just to find out they're just mediocre pieces. On a sidenote, has anyone heard/played Sciarrino's work? His Concert Etude in particular interests me but the sheet is so expensive due to the cost of the Italian importation.

Jose Feghali played several Nazareth compositions on his program in Beaufort, SC and they are very good, especially if you like Latin rhythms. I would have to dig up the program to be specific but the audience enjoyed them and I loved them! A couple of Hispanic friends really enjoyed it. Jose is from Brazil and came to my house to practise. He was the Van Cliburn Gold Medalist in 1985 (??). I'm not sure of the year. I need to buy the music and learn a couple of them--they were fascinating pieces.
