Interesting... Zeldah could be an annoyance but, she wasn't THAT bad. So what if an argument sprung up here or there. They were fun. I just don't want to be the one behind it, is all. I like to jump in if one flares up.

I don't mean to be rude but I question your piano technical ability, if you can't even manage the simplest of terminology.

I wasn't talking to jgoo. If anything, I was agreeing with you. An apology for your earlier remarks would be appreciated.

I'm sorry but that's the nicest I could have done on a raining Wednesday morning.

An apology? I'm sorry for the miss-understanding, yes, but if you would just take a moment to hear my side of the argument:

Heres what I said:

Quote
PIECE! Call it a piece if it has no words. Thsi comes from a disscussion that we had a long time ago. Play Liebstraum. I wish that I could play that piece. Its so beautifull.

Then, heres what you said, right afterward:

Quote
I agree with Jgoo, they are called pieces, not songs.
I don't mean to be rude but I question your piano technical ability, if you can't even manage the simplest of terminology.

I'm sorry, but that does sound as though you are questioning MY technical ability, as to the fact that I said that I couldn't play Liebstraume. I mean, who eles could you have been critisizing? The only other remark before mine was:

Quote
I have a recital coming up and I was wondering what songs I should play.
Right now I am picking between just playing the entire Beethoven piano sonata 23...

or Liebestraume by Liszt, and only the last movement from The Beethoven piano sonata 23.
( which I love)

So the two songs or the one....
What do you people think will sound better?

It sounded as though you were bashing me, questioning me about my piano technical ability, saying that I couldn't even manage the simpilest of termonolgy. The simpilest of termonology..., what the heck does that even mean?

Okay look, I apologize for the mix-up, but next time, I wish that you would clarify a bit better to whom you are speaking.

jgoo, trance wasn't speaking to you about technical ability. it was an offhand comment to classical player, said because classical player's 'termInology' is all messed up - so it seems classical player's technical ability must be questionable too...get it? (sorry for the third person usage but it's hard to guess the gender on some of these names).

Ah ha! Gotcha'. Now it all makes sense to my. So, Trance, I guess that a full apology is in order... I'm sorry. frown

Its so very easy to take things on this forum the wrong way, and you have to be careful as to think through and process what others are saying. I guess that I should have realized it earlier. Okay, now, feeling a bit stupid, I think that I'll take a short break and be back in a little while.

Gah!

Couldn't you have waited ten more minutes to apologize? I worked so hard on it, too...

But not until I have first replied to this. Now, I'm curious as to what has been so hardly worked on. Another graphic, I suppose...

Even though I already deleted it, the idea and desire for future application lingers!

I understood what Trance said and who it was intended for, but that doesn't make it a more friendly comment. I can't see what proper use of the language/terminology has to do with technical ability on the piano.

It seems to me that a person with good piano skills would never make a derogatory remark about another persons ability, or lack there of, especially based on the evidence. Anyone capable of playing this (any) Beethoven Sonata would never make this unfriendly remark. Of course if you put a disco beat behind it, I guess you could call it a song...

just my $.02

What did I miss, Brendan - did you delete another pot/kettle winner? HOW are you guys posting pictures here? Are you linking to a photo that is already on the web somewhere? Oh, and Trance's raining Wednesday morning comment made me giggle on my stolen painting Thursday morning. Everyone deserves to be forgiven for occasionally saying something not so nice. smile Jodi

No, I didn't post it. I just deleted it off of my hard drive. Sigh...it dwarfed both the "Fabulous" and "Pot & Kettle" pics put together. Anothr time, maybe.

You have to publish the file to the internet usually via your ISP or some sort of free hosting service, and then link to it like this:

Or, you can click on the little link in the "post a reply" screen that says "What is UBB Code" to get a more detailed explanation.

I guess that you and I are in the same boat then. But, I guess that theres no need to feel stupid, is there? I mean, really, it was all just a big ol' stupid misunderstanding, right? The people on this board are don't really hold a grudge, I've noticed, and I'm thankful for it. Otherwise, I most likely would have ended up leaveing without return a long time ago. They won't care that this misunderstanding has taken place. We all remember that one with Zeldah becuase it was a doozy. Over 100 posts on one thread alone! Whew! Thats when Zeldah left us. We've speculated, however, that she could still be lurking around somewhere on the board, prehapps biding her time before she makes a return, in either her old name or a new name all together.
