I just went to a "Piano monster concert" here at Hartt. There were 8 Steinway concert grands on stage, with a total of 16 pianists. (32 hands)

Some of the pieces, like Beethoven's Egmont overture, where just for 2 pianos and 4 hands. Other pieces, like the finale, were for 8 pianos, 32 hands! (Czerny's arragment of Rossini's overture to Semiramide).

It was great to watch that many pianists, and I must say, I had never seen something like this. The image of all of those pianos on stage was also marvelous, the huge sound was even better!

Has anyone else witnessed anything of this size?

Hi Crash Test
I have seen something similar a couple of times, in Vancouver (Canada) at the Chan Centre... According to the promotional blurbs: "sixteen pianists on eight [Steinway] concert grand pianos performing works and arrangements never before heard in North America has three times sold out spring concerts at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia" (There is a website with details at: www.vcn.bc.ca/cvpas/pianos_galore/ ). It was certainly an amazing experience!
