Hi All, It appears that alot of people suggest the "Alfred Adult Piano Course" I, II, III. It looks like a good idea for me to start these before I get my piano (I'm still banging on my elec. keyboard, but only for about 1 1/2 hours night), then I'll start lessons. I've already located a couple different teachers I'm interested in. I think they both use Alfred on adults anyway. What does everyone here think? the regular books or the "All in one"? I don't know what I would do with out "Piano World" forums, Thanks, Freddie p.s.: Jodi save me a spot in the photo album for my future ebony "Chales Walter 1500". O'tay

okay "All in one" is the spiral version (I thought that version might come with a cd). I checked some of the pages out on Amazon. It has tests in it, I like that. "The Entertainer" at the end cool!!!

The 'All in One' books are the individual books combined. I have all sets and they match pretty much 1 for 1 with individual levels 1,2 ==> All in One I individual levels 3,4 ==> All in One II individual levels 5,6 ==> All in One III

I love the Alfred Adult books. I've been using them for years, and they suit most beginning students very well. I'm right now trying to get the secondary piano class I teach changed from the Bastien books to the Alfred books. The students there prefer the Alfred pretty much unanimously.

Hi Joe and all,
Thanks for taking the time to answer. I'm ordering the "all in one" book level 1 tonight. I located two possible teachers and a piano tech in my area this weekend. I was lucky to do this because I live in a rural area. If teachers are using Alfred that makes me feel better about the method.

Oh, I meant to add that in next couple of towns over there is an offical "Alfred Adult piano" course taught at a music place. I'm checking into that too.
