Ok...
What peices are easy to play, but sound really impressive? I need a whole bunch of them...

Also, are there any christmas music books that are fairly easy (almost sight-readable)but sound good?? i need two sets of music, 45 minutes each, for this 'president's tea" thing i have to play at at my school...it should be mostly mostly christmas but it can have classical intertwined ( But this stuff has to sound " backrgound muzak-y)...

Earlier today I was just trying out the Chopin Aeolian Harp Etude (Opus 25 Number 1) for fun and I found it was technically much easier than I thought it would be. If you want, you could probably use this piece; this piece isn't too horrible and it will tend to impress most people with its continuous flowing motion. This piece is short too, lasting between two and a half and three minutes.

If you're playing a dinner gig (and assuming that it will be background music), you shouldn't play classical because it's too involved. Order some Christmas books from Amazon.com - no matter how simple the arrangements, you can jazz them up and they will work just fine for background stuff.

Actually, creating a *true* and good jazz arrangement is not as simple as it may seem. (unless you have a lot of experience or training in the genre).

Well, i can't do jazz, but adding onto the song i can do...it's actually not too hard, mostly just adding arpeggios and non-chordal tones here and there. Though i have had a lot of background in doing so ( i would have to play for church, and i woulkd " improvise" quite a bit to fill in those blasted guitar chords they gave me)...
