Hi, I'm new here. I'm a sophomore in college and I have been playing the piano for quite some time now.

Anyway, I just heard for the first time some pieces which I might consider learning for this semester. They are:

Schubert's Wanderer Fantasy Opus 15
Schumann's Fantasy Opus 17
Scriabin Piano Concerto Opus 20
Saint-Saens Piano Concerto Opus 103 (F major)

I just want to know how much of a reach would these pieces be for me. To give an estimate of my accomplishments and capabilities, I won honorable mention at a Chopin competition during high school playing the Opus 39 Scherzo and I got excellent reviews from the judges when I played Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody Number 12 in a festival.

Thanks.

Ask your teacher; he/she knows your playing.

I guess what I meant to find out was an idea of the technical difficulty of these pieces as well as the maturity level required and so on. And then I would use what I find out here to determine whether or not considering any of these pieces as goals is realistic.

I'd opt for Schubert or Saint-Saens, unless of course your temperment matches the Schumann, in which case I think you'll find it's not quite the finger busters that Schubert and Saint-Saens can be.

The Scriabin is, in my opinion, a bit of an odd bird. If you can handle the Chopin concerti ok and can get into Scriabin's earler style (3rd + 4th sonatas and fantasy), then it's probably fine, but I do think it's the more elusive of the four choices.

Yes, Scriabin is a bit odd. Some of his music is fairly difficult to handle.
I would say go for the Saint-Saens, That's a great piece.
By the way, i am also a sophomore in college \:\)
