I know it's a long shot but I thought I'd try here before hunting them down in the shops - I'm looking for piano transcriptions of Debussy's "Prélude à l'Après-midi d'une Faune" and "La Mer" for four hands for either one or two pianos, I'm not sure which either of them are for but I know they definitely exist.

Help is greatly appreciated!

I only have the Prélude à l'Après-midi d'une Faune for solo but I have the first 3 movements from La Mer for duet (or at least 2 piano 4 hand). If you want em, email me at valarking@gmail.com

They are in Dover's collections of Debussy's works for 4 hands.

Reaper Man - I'm not sure. I've been browsing for quite a long time for duets for myself and my duet partner to do in our second year, and we're looking for something a little more involving but still sounding good, we're doing the Rachmaninov Op.5 Fantasy Suite right now, looking to get back into some impressionist stuff (we did Ma Mère L'oye for about a month of so to get used to working together)

These were two pieces I came across that seemed particularly enjoyable, and AFAIK the only other piece Ravel wrote or arranged for duet/2 pianos is the tiny Frontispice which is not long enough to cut it for our next concert/jury.

I'll have a look for the Dover editions, thanks BDB. In the meantime, i'll email Valarking to see if we can use that to get started, thanks!

Besides Mother Goose, Ravel wrote an arrangement of Nuages and Fetes by Debussy, the Sheherazade Overture, and Sites Auriculaires, which has two movements. The first Habanera is the original version of the Habanera from Rhapsodie Espagnole, and the second, Entre Cloches is an early version of La vallee des cloches from Miriors.

Interesting.. so Ravel didn't transcribe Sirènes as well? If someone had a copy of the Nuage and Fetes transcriptions (as well as the overture depending on how long it is) I would be very interested in them.

These are all duet/2 piano transcriptions BDB?

The Nocturnes transcriptions (2 pianos) are available from Jobert, and possibly others. The Frontispice (5-hands!), Sheherazade (4-hands) and Sites Auriculares (2 pianos) are published by Salabert, and may still be in copyright, since they weren't published until many years after Ravel's death.

Josef and Rosina Lhevinne recorded Fetes.
