Fascinating link FC..... perhaps this is why, as I get older I turn my right ear toward someone who is speaking in a soft voice, or why I put my right ear to the wall when I'm eavesdropping on someone (shhh....did I say that?). But most interesting, is that I almost always turn my left ear downwards toward the keyboard when I'm really trying to concentrate on my playing.
Has anyone else noticed these things too?
Are the "speech" ear & "musical" ear switched if brain dominance is reversed? Perhaps someone here knows.

I have noticed these things as well. I find it difficult to talk with the phone at my left ear, and I instinctively turn my left ear toward the stereo/piano while listening to/playing music.

Lol, this is funny. Sometimes I play my piano looking to the right when I want to listen intently to something. This turns my left ear to the piano but I causes me to look straight at a wall. I've never done it the other way and I never thought about it either.

wow yeah.... that explains why whenever I'm improvising I lean my entire head to the keyboard, listening with my left ear. O_O interesting.
also why whenever I can't hear someone I hold my hand up to my right hear and go "WHAT?!"

That would explain the difficulty. [/b]Not Necessarily Nina: I'm right-handed, but I always use my left ear on the phone. And it's not because I need my right hand free to take notes. Even when I'm just listening/talking, the telephone is always the left ear for me.
