This custom search works much better than the built in one and allows searching older posts.

Do you know what Mr. Kirkpatrick looked like? I had different ideas in mind. Am I the only one who tries to imagine faces of authors/musicians/et al? The funny thing is, now that I've seen his picture, I don't remember at all how I imagined him!

i'm beginning to really like that sonata 466 (K) and am looking forward to working on 87. some of my favorite Horowitz recordings are of Scarlatti. thank you Sam for sharing your interest.

Looks like the few other pictures of him I've seen.
I'm especially fond of the harpsichord in the picture. I dislike modern instruments that are decorated the same way as historical ones; I'd much prefer to see the surface of the wood.
My piano teacher collected art, ceramics, antique furniture. He said that Kirkpatrick, who visited him once, was one of only two people he ever met who recognized all the objects he'd collected. I asked him for his opinion on Kirkpatrick's playing, and he said that it could be very exciting.
