So, with Christmas VERY quickly approaching, it would be interesting to hear everyone's feedback on what they are asking for for Christmas, that is related to piano or just music in general.

I am also partly making this thread because I am clueless what to ask for for Christmas! :p

Sheetmusic:
I have all the music that I will need for quite some time except:

Haydn Sonatas, Band II, Universal Urtext Edition
Debussy Bk. 1 Preludes
Schumann- Grillen (Is this available separately or do I need to order a set? I already own the other two from the op. 12 set I'm playing)

And a set of etudes from which to play besides the canonic (not literally) Chopin Etudes, MacDowell Etudes, which I've mastered, and Liszt etudes which are beyond me.

Ah, I'm asking for Finale Allegro (Finale is too expensive smile )
and sheetmusic-wise, I'm asking for:

The Carl Vine Sonata
The Elliott Carter Sonata
The Barber Sonata

smile
Can't wait!

Start thinking about what you can give, not what you can get. Would that not be more in the true spirit of the Season?

hmm, Is this a quote from Charles Dickens' "A Chrismas Carol"?

I agree with what you said as well. But if I were to be honest with myself, even though I agree with what is said, I have a hard time following that at all times. But that's just me.

well I'm 20 years old, and I'm teaching myself piano.

yeah but people enjoy giving so much i'm willing in an altruistic gesture to relinquish my "giving " proprieties and adopt the "receiving" ones.
i was always good at making sacrifices. :p

What I listed is actually not a "Christmas list" but is a list of the pieces which I have been working on with a library copy and need to purchase. I figured that it was relevant by the nature of planning to get the music.

My Mom asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I had great difficulty answering the question, so I'm looking for some answers.

Is there anything outside of sheet music and cd's that you would get?

I'd be thrilled to find either of these two things under the (figurative) tree:

1. Action regulation/refurbishing
2. Hammer shaping/Voicing

Xmas... ahhh...

I AM getting (cause I have the budget, and I've been saving) some new monitors for my studio: digidesign RM1, or TMCS-As... A bit pricey, but well worth the money.

Got a keyboard over the summer, a Casio which serves me well, since I don't have a piano here in London... That's all...

hmmm... maybe ticket booking for Seattle? I'd love to attend a premier later on this year. (too much, ok, I know, but Santa is a nice guy, is he not? :p )
