Sorry if this isn't 100% classical. It didn't bother me that the Oscar Peterson topic was in here.

Okay, there's this strangely familiar little tune I mistakenly figured out on the keys when experimenting with the excellent dorian mode.

It's a rather typical i IV i IV pattern.

I think it's from a movie. Maybe it just sounds like the end of all movies.

It goes something like this, in the key of A dorian

rhythmic pattern is half quarter half quarter etc.

A down to E up to F# down D up E down C down A (dotted half) repeat

I just have a weird nostalgic feeling about dorian stuff like this. I think this is "from" something, though.
