You're sick and had to miss a hot date, several classes, and an important meeting, but all you can think about is the practicing you've missed.

... you buy a different edition of a work of which you already have five different editions - and the work is too difficult for you to hope to master any time soon.

Cheers

Instead of paying attention to the dialog in the movie you keep trying to see if you can read the name on the fallboard in those scenes in which a piano plays an incidental role.

You are starting to collect 2P4H concertinos/concertos when you still only have 1 Casio Privia and no one else to practice or play with.

Ravel's orchestration of Pictures is offensive to your ears.

You sleep with a picture of Chopin under your pillow. Or one of his compositions.

I don't know whether I should laugh or cry at this. I haven't had a serious girlfriend since high school.

You've named your piano... Her name is Sophia by the way.

You can list the keys and opus numbers of all the Beethoven sonatas backwards.

You know a Liszt Hungarian rhapsody that isn't #2.

Your favorite Rachmaninoff prelude isn't in C# minor.

You *don't* know offhand what piece Brahms's lullaby is from.

You're more familiar with Liszt's Schubert transcriptions than the originals.

You arrive at recitals 45 minutes early so you can sit just left of center, 10 rows back.

You moved your piano right next to your bed so as to be able to play WHENEVER inspiration hits.
Now, I need one in the bathroom...

Mine are Dolly and Samantha

You recuperate from abdominal surgery by beginning the Revolutionary Etude.

You have disproportionately increased vascularity in your hands and forearms.

You know Liszt's output by the Searle Catalog.
You know who Searle is.
You play forgotten, self-absorbed, virtuosic romantic repertoire that no one else cares about.
You proselytize said repertoire.
You actually like Bartok, Barber, Carter.

And, the obligatory inflammatory statement of the day:
You hate Lang Lang.

I guess then I'm one, although I don't understand the Brahms Lullaby requirement. I have performed Cortot's transcripition of this work and have at least two other transcriptions.
