Claire de lune, Golliwog's Cake-Walk, La Cathedrale Engloutie, Arabesque Mov. 1. Just to name a few, but I would like to know what the favritoes of others are because I know that there are many Debussy pieces that I've never heard/played before and I would just like some opinoins on what are great works of Debussy.

I too like all the pieces that you have mentioned but I would like to add a few.I am saying the names in english because I can't say or spell them in French! Reflections in the water, Gardens in the rain, and fireworks.

Probably not the greatest Debussy, but a couple of pieces I have really enjoyed playing are 'La Serenade Interrompue' (Preludes Bk1 no 9) and 'The Snow is Dancing' from Children's Corner.
I also like the Etudes, but they sound extremely difficult.

Glenn Gould in regards to music:
The problem begins when one forgets the artificiality of it all, when one neglects to pay homage to those designations that to our minds-to our reflect senses, perhaps-make of music an analyzable commodity. The trouble begins when we start to become so impressed by the strategies of ours systematized thought that we forget that it does relate to an obverse, that it is hewn from negation, that it is but a very small security against the void of negation which surrounds it.
