Hi,

Sorry for the multiple postings. I messed up.

I would like to know has anyone heard of a Lindsay Upright Piano.

Someone here at work is selling one. Claims to be around 100 years old, mechanics and ivory keys are original but furniture has been striped and stained.

Would anyone have any info on this as to where it is made, what it may be worth (person is asking $1200 cdn, approx $750 US). Any sort of information would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Per the Piano Atlas, the Lindsay name was used from 1903 to 1942. Pianos were built by either Lesage or or Craig for a big retailer in Quebec called C. W. Lindsay and Co.

Have a piano tech look it over before you consider purchchasing it. $750 US is approaching the high end of what you can get for one of these.

I would hesitate to pay that much for it unless there has been some major work done on it over the years and it is darn near perfect. There is also a (fairly good, unfortunately) chance that there are unseen problems with it - large enough that it has no value at all.

Caveat emptor.
