Yesterday I went to see Martha Argerich festival in Rosario city (Argentina).
There were six pianist, including Martha.
Even though the festival was nice I'm deeply desapointed about the festival because she didn't play alone!!!
We (the people at the festival) wanted to see her playing, at least, one "song" alone. But she didn't do it.
Besides that, the pianist were really great, specially Eduardo Delgado.
let me give you a piece of advice: if they are going to tour round your country go and see them, the pianist are gifted artist and the works they play are very nice (Bach, Copin, Liszt, Ginastera, Piazzolla, etc).

Regards.

PD: Don't expect to see Martha playing alone!.

Quite some time ago, after a great period of solo performances, Martha decided she wanted to collaborate with others in chamber ensembles. I share your disappointment at times but have to believe shes enjoying the cooperative effort with other great musicians.

Unfortunately that seems to be the case with Martha these days. Personally, I'd fly anywhere in the country to see her in recital, but I'm afraid the chances are slim.

Thanks for the report.

News flash from today's paper indicates that Martha Argerich has had to cancel all of her concert appearances through February. Apparently the melanoma she has been battling has resurfaced.

Argerich is (was?) scheduled to play the Chopin 1st Piano Concerto with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Charles Dutoit on April 4, 5, 6, and 8. Now, I wonder?

Regards,
