So what does Peter Schickele's music sound like? Does it appear genuinely from the Baroque/Roccoco periods? Why do you think he came up with this parody... was it so that he could "get away" with writing in the Baroque style?

I think that it would be fascinating to understand the mentality behind presenting the music in this way... perhaps he thought the classical scene was too serious?

His music is very interesting, to say the least.

There is no commercial recording, as far as I know, of the Cello Suites.

That sample made me just as uncomfortable as the PDQ Bach book that somehow ended up in my library I had to throw out... I apologize, but what is this guy doing with his life???
