I am a beginning piano student, and was asked to play a peice in a recital with the other beginners in three weeks. Anyway, I really don't want to play The Entertainer or When the Saints Go Marching In, so can anyone recommend any easy but enjoyable peices that aren't your standard "Learn to Play Piano!" songs? I found an easy version of Bennie and the Jets, but would love some suggestions.

thanks

Three weeks to go and NOW you're asking for suggestions? What have you been working on? What do you have ready - or almost ready - for performance? Or, are you so confident in your skills that you can learn something new and have it ready for performance in three weeks? It's difficult to know what to suggest since we don't know what exactly your "beginning" level is.

Good luck!

I found this "arrangement" by Albinoni on the Sibelius site. I just went to advanced search and selected for piano, easy, classical and free. The best part about Sibelius is the Scorch software allows you to listen to the piece first before you print it out.
Good luck

Sonatina in G major by Beethoven (supposedly...) is one you can find on http://www.music-scores.com It's a nice piece I learned to play about a half-year into piano lessons.

That sonatina's first movement was the first composition I played in public :-), I would suggest, if you like romantic composers, especially Chopin, to give this one a try, it's not really hard, except for a few bars, and a wide arpeggio.

Waltz Op. 69 N° 1, aka L'Addieu

You can get it here:

If you need any advice on it feel free to ask.

LOL, In 3 weeks?

If you don't have something ready, you need to drop out of the recital.
