Hello all,

I am currently working towards my grade 5 exam at the moment but will not be taking it untill the summer.

What famous classical pieces could be accessable for me to try and learn. I have quite good technqiue and finger dexterity my teacher thinks.

Ideally I would like to learn a piece of Chopin or Beethoven roughly grade 8 standard to try and test my piano playing more and for once play something which everyone would recognise.

Please could someone list a few possibles. I cant seem to make up my mind!

Thanks alot.

Hi,
Some of the following pieces may do the trick and are fairly recognisable:

Chopin Nocturne Op. 72/1 E minor (Grade 8)
Chopin Nocturne C#minor post humous

Beethoven 3rd movement from Pathetique (grade 7)

Also, have a look at some of the easier Chopin waltzes.

You could also have a look at the ABRSM syllabus online for some ideas listed according to grade.

Good luck with your new piece.
