Hi, my teacher decided to let me use this whole sonata for an upcoming competition so I had to finish off this movement after taking a break from it since march with only the notes learnt. I just recorded it, made a few mistakes and my apologies for that. http://www.freewebs.com/amelialw/myrecordings.htm Enjoy! Amelia

Nice job, Amelia.
If you don't mind though, the only critial thing I'd like to comment on is the pedaling. It becomes mushy in the section with the repeated notes.
I worked on this sonata about 12 years ago and played it in recital. Like all of Haydn's piano sonatas, it's a lot of fun to play.
Keep up the good work.
John

thanks John, I will take note of that.
It seems like I can never get a perfect recording of my pieces, somehow fora reason. Last night when I was at a party, I played it and it sounded so different, so much better as I really drifted into the music.
anyway, i'll record it it a few days time again, together with the 1st and 3rd movement.

You're welcome, Amelia.
I know what you mean about recordings. I think it's the fear of the red dot because I always play better in front of people as well.
I look forward to hearing the third movement.
John

Hi Amelialw, I like your playing. Despite the mistakes, it still sounds good.
I am also learning this piece for my exam. I feel less intimidated by the recorder than the audiences.
