Digital piano with faulty sustain pedal

Hi everyone. I'd desperately like some advice regarding my Roland HP2e electric piano. For a few years it's had an intermittent fault where the sustain pedal stops working. Now however, the pedal doesn't work at all, making the instrument practically unplayable.
It seems that no technician will give me a quote without making a callout, which I can't really afford. Is there anything simple which I can try myself, before I get the professionals in?

This is the acoustic piano forum. You might try the digital piano forum down the hall. Dan Silverwood www.silverwoodpianos.com

In Kalamazoo here, we have a tech who is certified by Roland, Yamaha and other companies, who does ONLY electronic instruments and equipment...you'll need to find that person in your area of England, and take the instrument to him/her. Good luck, RD

Ah, you're right. I'm in the wrong forum, how embarrassing. Sorry folks. If I could figure out how to delete the post, I'd do it, but it's too much like hard work. Ah well, it's not doing any harm.
